Gardening During House Renovation
House refurbishments are often carried out at the expense of your garden. The garden is often the space where the contractors set up equipment, mix concrete and store their tools, not to mention where debris and waste seems to build up, the garden rarely escapes casualties. If you’re contemplating a refurbishment or in fact have begun one, it’s good advice to think of your garden. No matter how wonderful it was before, it is very unlikely that it will look the same after. There is a plus side, whilst the contractors are working on the interior, it is possible to begin to landscape the outside at the same time. If after the refurbishment your garden has escaped injury, you may feel that it too needs a makeover to match your new interior space.
Depending on your budget you can redesign and landscape the garden yourself, or you can hire professional landscapers. If there are things you always wanted in your garden, a patio, certain trees and plants or just a lawn, now is the time to completely makeover your existing space and create something great. Spring is an excellent time to begin your house refurbishment and garden makeover. Construction work commonly begins in spring as the ground is easy to dig and the weather conditions are cool and dry. At the same time, spring is the time that gardens are planted, the ground is nice and soft and seeds planted now will grow and flower in just a few months, in the summer when you can really enjoy your garden. With the ongoing work in the garden you will need to agree with the contractors where they will set up their equipment and store their tools. Cordon off the areas where specific things will be planted, or maybe ponds built.
